Emily Lynn Schultz is a painter and quilter born in Sellersville, Pennsylvania. In 2017, she received her BFA in painting from the Maryland Institute College of Art with a concentration in fiber art. Emily currently resides in Baltimore, Maryland with her partner and dogs.
Emily creates multimedia pieces through a cathartic process of improvisation, deconstruction, and assembly. The pieces start as an exploration and expression of emotion and energy. From there, elements are pieced together, drawing compositional inspiration from quilt patterns. Like quilts, the pieces exist as a remembrance of a moment, and the emotions that moment was grounded in.
